To establish a good communication relationship between us, please remember the following:
1. Ensure that you have enough diapers for a one month period.
2. Ensure that you bring a change of clothes. For infants, several changes of clothes would be preferred.
3. If your child is 2 years old and above and not potty trained, please work with me to ensure that you follow my program at home. I cannot potty train by myself.
4. Work with your child on their numbers, ABCs, and colors. I have a pre-K learning program, however, you as a parent must continue to enforce this at home.
5. Consider using my payment website to pay your childcare fee. It is easy and gives you the flexibility to pay, have your money directly withdrawn from your checking account, and you will see and have a record of all your invoices. When using this system, please ensure that you execute your payment before 12:00 Noon the Friday before your child enters our childcare. It will take two days for our invoices to debit your bank account and another three days before we see it in our account. Therefore, any late payment will delay our paycheck. (P.S. some banks are faster than others, therefore the 2-day withdrawal may vary).
6. Please call me if you are going to be late either dropping or picking your child up early. Because children are put down for a nap in the early afternoon, loud noises, like the doorbell may disturb them, therefore, if I know you are picking up early, I can watch for your arrival. In addition, because this is a home childcare and located within a residential neighborhood, safety is our upmost concern. In this regard, please remember if you want to stop by before your regular pickup, you must call ahead of time.
7. Please remember if you have contracted to either drop off your child at a certain time in the morning or pick up your child at a certain time in the evening, it is vital that you comply with these times. Although I am aware that emergencies do occur from time-to-time, however taking excessive advantage of drop off or late pickups strains the parent-provider partnership, and prevents me from meeting my before and after-business obligations.
8. Please keep in mind that children have different mood swings during the year. It is not uncommon for a child to cry periodically when dropped off or picked up . These moods pass. Please do not be alarmed. Also, a child may find it hard to adjust in a new environment. This will also pass. Normally, within a short period of time they will adjust.
9. Please remember to change your child's diaper before you bring them to childcare. If you discover that your child has soiled their diaper once you have entered the childcare home, you are responsible for changing their diaper, not the childcare provider.
10. Please remember that according to the parent contract, if your child is not at childcare, you are still responsible for that weekly fee. This guarantees that your child's slot will not be removed.
11. And lastly, please remember that this is a "home" childcare and not a large facility with staff. Therefore, different rules will apply.
Following the above guidelines will guarantee a smooth transition for both you, your child, and myself.
